♥ Texas Sheet Cake ♥
Ingredients
- 2 cup flour
- 2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoon cocoa
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream or buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 stick butter
- 4 tablespoon cocoa
- 6 tablespoon milk
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
In large bowl, sift flour, sugar and salt.
Bring to boil the butter, water and cocoa.
Add to the flour mixture.
Combine the eggs, sour cream and baking soda, add this to the mixture and beat together well.
Bake in greased 11 1/2 x 18 x 1 inch pan at 400 degree for 18-20 minutes.
While cake is baking prepare icing.
Icing
Bring to a boil the butter, cocoa, and milk.
Remove from the heat and add the sugar, vanilla and nuts.
Beat well and pour on cake as soon as it is removed from the oven.
