Brown Beauty Fudge Frosting
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup cocoa
 - 2 cups sugar
 - dash of salt
 - 3/4 cup milk
 - 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
 - 1/3 cup butter or margarine
 - 1 teaspoon vanilla
 
Directions
Combine cocoa, sugar, salt in saucepan.
Add milk and corn syrup.
Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves ad mixture comes to a boil.
Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until a small amount of mixture forms a soft ball in cold water (or to a temperature of 234 degrees F.).
Remove from heat.
Add butter and vanilla; blend.
Cook to likewarm. Then beat until mixture begins to lose its gloss.
If too stiff, add a little hot water.
Makes enough frosting to cover tops and sides of two 8-inch layers.
